Champions League on UK TV — TNT Sports schedule and broadcaster guide

Champions League on TV — Tonight's UK Broadcaster Guide

The Champions League section of Yallashoot tracks every UEFA Champions League fixture and tells you which UK broadcaster carries it. Since 2024-25, the competition has run a new eight-match league phase before knockouts, giving British viewers many more nights of high-stakes European football.

The UK rights holder

TNT Sports (on Discovery+)

TNT Sports holds the exclusive UK and Ireland rights to the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League. Every match — from the league phase through to the final — is available either on the TNT Sports linear channels (TNT Sports 1, 2, 3, 4) or via the Discovery+ streaming service.

To watch:

  • Discovery+ subscription — the most flexible route, available on phones, tablets, computers and smart TVs. The “Premium” tier bundles the TNT Sports channels.
  • Sky / Virgin Media TV — TNT Sports is available as an add-on to Sky and Virgin Media subscriptions.
  • Amazon Prime Video / EE — selected TNT bundle access.

Free-to-air on TNT Sports YouTube

Each season, TNT Sports streams a small selection of matches free on its YouTube channel, including one final. Subscribe to the TNT Sports YouTube channel in advance to be notified when free matches go live.

The league-phase format (from 2024-25)

UEFA rebuilt the Champions League in 2024. Now each club plays eight league-phase matches (four at home, four away) against eight different opponents. After those rounds:

  • The top 8 qualify directly for the round of 16.
  • Teams placed 9th to 24th enter a two-leg play-off for the remaining round-of-16 spots.
  • Teams placed 25th to 36th are eliminated from the competition altogether.

This makes every league-phase match meaningful and guarantees that every top club faces several heavyweight opponents in the autumn months.

UK kick-off times and how to follow

Most matches kick off at 20:00 UK time, with some earlier games at 17:45 UK time. Knockout-round fixtures generally start at 20:00. The final each season is a Saturday evening on TNT Sports.

  • Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool — the three English contenders most often deep in the bracket.
  • Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, PSG — traditional European powers.
  • Barcelona — generation built around Lamine Yamal and Pedri.
  • Newcastle, Aston Villa — the recent English entrants gaining experience.
